SRINAGAR: Police conducted inspections of shops dealing in fertilisers, seeds and explosive materials across Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Monday to check compliance with legal requirements and prevent the unauthorised sale or diversion of regulated items.
During the inspections, police checked stocks, licences and relevant records maintained by the establishments. The exercise was aimed at preventing the misuse of regulated materials and ensuring their lawful handling and storage.
According to police, the inspections are part of preventive measures being undertaken to maintain public safety and law and order during Dussehra and other festive celebrations.
Shopkeepers and dealers were advised to adhere to applicable laws and cooperate with the authorities during inspections.
Ramban Police also urged the public to report suspicious activities or the illegal sale of regulated materials to the nearest police station or through the emergency response number 112.
