Jammu Kashmir Police Officer Suspended Under Service Rules, Inquiry Ordered

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has suspended DySP Sunil Singh, formerly posted as SDPO Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, pending an inquiry into unspecified allegations. The suspension order, issued on November 13 by the Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, invokes Rule 31(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.

According to officials, the suspension takes immediate effect and is part of the procedural framework governing disciplinary action against officers in the Union Territory. Singh has been directed to remain attached to the Police Headquarters during the period of suspension to facilitate the inquiry and ensure administrative oversight.

Sources in the Home Department said the inquiry will proceed under established rules, and further action will be determined once the concerned authorities submit their findings. They added that such disciplinary measures form part of routine accountability mechanisms within the police administration.
