SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has issued a notification inviting applications for 575 Lecturer positions in the School Education Department. The recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies across various disciplines, including Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Physics, among others.
Eligible candidates domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir can submit applications online starting December 10, 2024. The last date to complete the application process, including payment of the requisite fee, is January 9, 2025. Candidates can edit specific fields in their applications between January 10 and January 12, 2025.
Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university. The age limit for candidates varies by category:
Open Merit: Born between January 1, 1984, and January 1, 2006
Reserved Categories: Born between January 1, 1981, and January 1, 2006
In-service Candidates: Born between January 1, 1984, and January 1, 2006
Physically Handicapped Candidates: Born between January 1, 1982, and January 1, 2006
Candidates must also hold a valid domicile certificate and meet other qualifications as specified in the notification.
The written examination will be conducted at centres in Jammu and Srinagar, with dates to be announced later. Admit cards will be available for download approximately two weeks before the examination. The selection process will follow the “Jammu & Kashmir School Education Department (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 2010.”
The notification reserves 16 posts for persons with benchmark disabilities across various disciplines. The application fee is Rs 1,200 for general category candidates and Rs 700 for those in reserved categories. Persons with disabilities are exempted from the fee.
Candidates are required to apply through the JKPSC website, ensuring all documents, including educational certificates, domicile certificates, and category certificates (if applicable), are uploaded correctly. Multiple applications or discrepancies in submitted information may lead to disqualification.
Of these Open Merit (OM) has 238, Residents of Backward Areas (RBA) 53, Scheduled Castes (SC) 51, Scheduled Tribes (ST-1) 61, Scheduled Tribes (ST-2) 56, Actual Line of Control (ALC) 26, Other Backward Classes (OBC) 42, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) 48.
