Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Sandeep Mehta, said the operation began in the Bhallara area of Thathri on Friday evening and continued through Saturday. Army units have joined the police in cordoning off the village and adjoining forests, though no contact has yet been made with the suspected militants, officials confirmed.

The operation comes amid heightened tensions in Doda following the detention of Aam Aadmi Party state president and local MLA Meraj Malik under the Public Safety Act earlier this week. Security restrictions remain in force across the district as authorities maintain a strict vigil to avert any unrest.
