SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed significant growth in tourism and trade this year, with the participation of 120 tourism and travel operators at the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2025. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while visiting the J&K Tourism Pavilion at Asia’s largest travel trade show, reiterated his government’s commitment to making the region a global tourism hub.
“Tourism is a top priority for our government, and we are dedicated to positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a premier travel destination. Our participation in events like OTM is a step toward achieving this vision,” CM Omar Abdullah said.
Held at the Jio World Convention Centre, the event, running from January 30 to February 1, has drawn exhibitors and buyers from around the world. Jammu and Kashmir’s pavilion has made a strong impression, showcasing its breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and immense tourism potential.
During his visit, the Chief Minister engaged with tourism stakeholders, including travel operators, artisans, and officials, to review the arrangements for their participation. He commended the creative efforts to present Jammu and Kashmir’s diverse offerings and directed the Tourism Department to maximise outreach by actively participating in major travel events nationwide and internationally.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Dheeraj Gupta, Director Tourism Kashmir, and MD JKTDC.
Tourism stakeholders at the event expressed optimism about new collaborations and the prospect of attracting more visitors to Jammu and Kashmir, further strengthening the region’s tourism-driven economy.
