SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday ordered the promotion of six Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) of the General Cadre to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) with immediate effect.
According to Government Order No. 190-Home of 2026 dated April 1, issued by the Home Department, the promotions have been made in Pay Level 11 (Rs 67,700–Rs 2,08,700) of the Pay Matrix.
The officers promoted are Ab Raqeeb Malik, Shwetambri Sharma, Hamid Ali Banday, Abdul Maajid Magray, Mir Burhan Ul Haq Kanth, and Sajad Sarwer.
The order states that the promotions are based on references received from the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission and CID, JK.
It further clarifies that the promotions shall be subject to the outcome of any writ petitions, if pending before any competent court of law.
The order was issued by Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Chandraker Bharti, IAS, under the directions of the Lieutenant Governor.
