SRINAGAR: The Kashmir region experienced freezing conditions, with most areas recording sub-zero temperatures.

Srinagar recorded a minimum of -0.9°C, while Qazigund dipped further to -2.5°C. The coldest place in the valley was Gulmarg, which registered a low of -8.2°C. Pahalgam and Kokernag followed closely at -3.4°C and -2.8°C, respectively. Sonamarg and Shopian both recorded lows of -4.2°C, while Larnoo experienced a frigid -5.3°C. Kupwara saw a minimum of -1.3°C, and Bandipora recorded -0.3°C. Other areas like Baramulla, Budgam, Pulwama, Khudwani, and Kulgam also remained well below freezing, with temperatures ranging from -1.1°C to -3.5°C.
In the Jammu region, temperatures were relatively milder but varied across locations. Jammu city recorded 8.5°C, while Katra and Kathua observed similar temperatures at 9.1°C. Ramban saw the highest minimum temperature in the region at 9.4°C. Meanwhile, Bhaderwah experienced near-freezing conditions at -0.1°C, and Padder was the coldest area in Jammu, with a low of -5.7°C. Banihal, Batote, and Kishtwar recorded 1.4°C, 3.5°C, and 4.4°C, respectively. Rajouri and Poonch observed temperatures of 4.4°C and 5.5°C, while Samba, Reasi, and Udhampur recorded minimums of 6.4°C, 7.9°C, and 7.3°C, respectively.
The Ladakh region remained extremely cold, as is characteristic during this season. Leh recorded a bone-chilling -11.1°C, while Kargil registered -8.7°C. Drass, often regarded as one of the coldest inhabited places in the world, recorded the lowest temperature in the region at -13.0°C. (Kashmir Weather)
