Jammu Kashmir: Two Teachers Suspended for Unauthorised Absence During School Inspection

   

SRINAGAR: The Chief Education Officer (CEO), Rajouri, in Jammu and Kashmir, has suspended two teachers posted at Middle School Chaprandar in Zone Thannamandi after they were found absent from duty without authorisation during an inspection.

According to an official order issued by the CEO, an inspection of the school was carried out on May 5, 2026, at around 9:30 am. During the inspection, teachers Mohd Imran and Shareen Dar were found absent without prior permission, which was described as gross dereliction of duty and a violation of service rules.

Taking serious note of the lapse, the authorities placed both teachers under immediate suspension under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules.

During the suspension period, both teachers will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per rules. Mohd Imran has been attached to Middle School Namblan, Zone Rajouri, while Shareen Dar has been attached to High School Manyal, Zone Thannamandi.

Meanwhile, the Head of Institution (HoI) of Middle School Chaprandar has been directed to submit a detailed written explanation within two days regarding the poor functioning of the school and failure to maintain staff discipline.

The order further states that any delay or failure in submitting the explanation will invite strict action under the relevant rules. (KNC)
