SRINAGAR: The Motor Vehicle Department in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir has suspended the Registration Certificate (RC) of a Maruti Brezza after two persons were allegedly seen performing dangerous stunts in the moving vehicle in a video that circulated on social media.
The suspension, effective immediately and continuing until further orders, was issued by the Office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (Executive Magistrate 1st Class), Poonch, against vehicle number JK12B8976.
According to the order, the vehicle is registered in the name of Basharat Hussain Shah, son of Nazir Hussain Shah, a resident of Gursai in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.

It also stated that the conduct was unsafe and contrary to the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the rules framed under it.
The suspension of the vehicle’s RC will remain in force until further orders, pending further proceedings under the applicable legal provisions.
The registered owner has been directed to submit, within seven days of receiving the order, the driving licence of the person who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. The licence will be examined for further necessary action.
The order warned that failure to comply within the stipulated period could lead to additional action under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the rules made thereunder.
