SRINAGAR: A 45-year-old woman was injured after jumping from a window upon seeing her son hanging at their home in the Mahore area of Jammu Kashmir’s Reasi district on Monday, officials said.
An official said that a heart-wrenching incident occurred in Baggodas village of Mahore tehsil, where a young boy was found hanging at his home during the intervening night of October 18 and 19.
He said the boy’s mother, upon seeing her son hanging, jumped from a window of the house and sustained serious injuries.
The deceased was identified as Mohd Farooq (20), son of Shabir Ahmed, a resident of Baggodas village. His mother was identified as Basso Begum (45).
The woman was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu by family members, where she is undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, police have taken up the matter for investigation and further details are awaited. (KNO)
