SRINAGAR: Vehicular movement on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was suspended in both directions on Sunday due to landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones triggered by continuous heavy rainfall along the route.
An official SAUD that multiple stretches of the highway had become unsafe for travel due to the prevailing weather conditions, leading to traffic disruption. The highway remains blocked at several key locations.
Authorities have advised commuters to avoid travel on NH-44 until weather conditions improve and the road is cleared for safe passage. Restoration work is expected to begin once the weather stabilises. (JKNS)
