SRINAGAR: The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) will remain closed to vehicular traffic today, January 25, due to heavy snow accumulation between Nachlana and the Navyug Tunnel in the Banihal sub-division of Ramban district, the Traffic Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir, informed.

According to the Traffic Plan and Advisory issued by the Traffic Police Headquarters, snow clearance operations are currently underway on the affected stretch. However, no vehicular movement will be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) towards Doda, Ramban, Banihal, and Srinagar, and vice-versa, until further orders.

The advisory also stated that the Jammu-Doda road remains closed due to prevailing weather conditions.

Meanwhile, commuters belonging to Katra, Reasi, and Udhampur towns have been advised to carry valid photo identity cards to facilitate smooth movement at checkpoints.

Authorities urged commuters to stay updated about road conditions through official Traffic Police social media handles, including Twitter, Facebook, and Traffic Control Units (TCUs), before planning their travel.
