To thwart the possible protest demonstrations on January 26, authorities on Sunday placed most of the leaders of Pro-freedom camp under house arrest.

According to the KNS correspondent, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik was kept under house arrest since Sunday morning.

According to the front spokesman Mohammad Hussain Altaf , Malik was kept under police confinement since last night and that the huge deployment of forces was made outside his residence. Altaf stated further that Front’s senior leader Showkat Bakshi was also kept under preventive detention on Sunday.

Condemning the confinement of its leaders, spokesman JKLF in a statement to KNS maintained that the hollow slogans of rule of law and the promises of justice stand nullified in the troubled land of Kashmir.

 

Authorities also kept Senior Huriyat (G) leaders under house arrest, barring them to hold any protest demonstration. According to the reports received by KNS, Huriyat (G) senior leader Ashraf Sehrai, Dr Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, Mohammad Altaf Shah and amalgam’s chief spokesman Ayaz Akbar was on Sunday kept under house arrest.

In a telephonic statement to KNS, Ayaz Akbar while thanking the people of Kashmir for observing compete shutdown today, stated that the people of Kashmir have given their referendum that they nullify the constitution of India.  “It is our resolve that we will fight for the just cause till freedom and on this day we have once again made clear to the world that what our political will is.”

Huriyat Conference JK spokesman stated that the authorities kept its leadrs under house arrest including the senior separatist leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan. The amalgam has condemned the police action .

Vice chairman of JK salvation Movement and Huriyat (M) leader PAK chapter Tufail Altaf Bhat in a statement condemned the house arrest of chairman salvation movement Zaffar Akber Bhat and arrest of chairman liberation front (H) Javed Ahmed Mir by Mahrajganj police station

Meanwhile, according to the statement issued by peoples league senior hurriyat leader and chairman jkpl Mukhtar Ahmad Waza was today kept house arrest Party spokesperson has strongly condemned the arrest of Waza and termed the same as worst kind of state  barbarism in Kashmir on the eve of their republic day .
