Badam Vaer

J&K Bank Sunday organised one-day “Jashn-e-Amad-e-Bahar” (a festival to welcome onset of spring) at Badam Vaer (Almond Alcove) here. “The bloom of almond flowers in this historical Almond Alcove on the banks of Nageen Lake is the first sign of arrival of spring in valley,” a statement issued by the company said.

Executive Presidents of the Bank, Parvez Ahmad and Abdul Rauf Bhat, Senior President Mohammad Syed Wani, Vice Presidents and other senior officials of the bank were present in the festival.

“A number of handicraft stalls displaying traditional handicraft products of Kashmir and traditional food stalls were also set up by the Bank on the occasion for the visitors,” the statement said adding, “despite inclement weather the festival was marked by good number of people including tourists.”

It’s pertinent to mention that J&K Bank has been maintaining Badam Vaer after it was redeveloped and its glory restored in 2008.
