Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Monday held a condolence meeting at SMHS hospital to mourn the sad demise of noted Kashmiri surgeon Dr Brij Mohan Bhan who breathed his last yesterday at Delhi after a prolonged illness.

Expressing profound grief and sorrow over the death, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in the meeting said it is a great loss and his death has resulted in an unbridgeable void.

A man of impeccable integrity, his commitment to the welfare of people of the state was commendable.

His contributions in the field of surgery will be remembered for all times to come.

He was instrumental in starting surgical procedures in the state and made differences in lives of hundreds of patients.

He rendered his services to the people of state at a time when many doctors left them to fend for themselves.

His clinical skills were a treasure and are even now practiced by his pupils.

He was a compassionate and an empathetic doctor because of which he was very popular among patients.

Patients had trust and faith in him and they still carry his prescriptions and value them.

He will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

“We lost a gem of a doctor”.

Paying rich tributes to the deceased, the members prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, senior APHC-m leader and chief of JKLF (H) Javaid Ahmad Mir has expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Kashmir’s prominent Gastroenterologist, surgeon and former Principal of Govt. Medical College Srinagar Dr Brij Mohan Bhan, who passed away last evening in Delhi.

In his condolence message to kith and kin Dr Brij Mohan Bhan particularly with Mrs Sheila Bhan, R K Bhan and Dr Anil Bhan, Javaid Ahmad Mir recalled the memories of the deceased as neighbour at Chotta Bazar Karan Nagar.

Terming the deceased as noble soul who always stood a helping hand to needy, Javaid Mir prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
