Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of the state employees announced a fresh calendar of its protest on Thursday and called for a two day pen-down strike on December 14 and 15 to press for its demands.

“The state Government has failed to fulfill our demands as promised to us by it. As a mark of protest for deception, we announce a two-day pen-down strike on December 14 and 15 in whole of the state,” JCC leaders told to press.

They accused the government of failing to live up to its promises and fulfill the commitments made to employees, “which has forced the JCC to announce the fresh protest programme”.

Ahead of the strike, the employees will launch protests, dharnas, demonstrations and rallies in all the district, tehsil and block headquarters to gear up for a major show of strength in the state.

“Employees will hold peaceful protest demonstrations at district headquarters from December 8, to 13”. said JCC leaders. They added that the employees through these demonstrations would press government for their demands.

“Two days strike will be observed on 14 and 15th December and on 15th December the employees will gather in Jammu for peaceful march towards Governor House and a memorandum will be presented to the Governor about the demands and the promises and commitments made by the government with JCC”; said JCC leaders.

The state employees are demanding enhancement in retirement age from 58 to 60, regularization of daily wagers and removal of pay anomalies in various clerical grades apart from payment of 6th pay commission arrears in full.
