SRINAGAR: Two employees of the Power Development Department (PDD), including a Junior Engineer, were injured on Friday following a blast involving a grid transformer in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The incident occurred earlier in the day, prompting a swift response from Fire and Emergency Services and Budgam Police, who secured the area to prevent further risk.
The injured, identified as a Junior Engineer and a technical assistant, were shifted to Budgam District Hospital. Medical officials confirmed that both are in stable condition and under treatment.
“A detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the blast. Prima facie, it appears to be due to a malfunction,” a police said. (KNT)
