SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police in North Kashmir’s Sopore searched the house of a Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI)-linked individual in Hajam Mohalla, Dardpora Zaloora area of Sopore.
The operation was part of an ongoing investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and led to the recovery of incriminating material.
A police spokesperson, in a statement said that Sopore Police conducted a search operation at the residence of Abdul Razak Hajam, son of Abdul Samad Hajam, a resident of Hajam Mohalla, Dardpora Zaloora, Sopore.
“The search was conducted in connection with FIR No. 42/2025, registered under Sections 10 and 13 of the UAPA. The operation was carried out after obtaining a valid search warrant from the competent court. During the search, incriminating material linked to the proscribed organisation was recovered and seized for further investigation. The operation was conducted in the presence of Magistrates and independent witnesses, ensuring legal compliance and procedural transparency,” police said.
