SRINAGAR: The administration on Saturday demolished a house of a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militant stating that the structure was built on government land.

A police spokesman in a statement said that today District Administration Pulwama retrieved one Kanal of State land at New Colony Rajpora Pulwama which was under the illegal occupation of Ashiq Hussain Nangroo son of Gh Mohd Nangroo resident of New Colony Rajpora A/P PaK (hardcore militant of proscribed militant outfit JeM).

“The said militant had raised the two-storied concrete structure on the said land a few years ago when he was an active militant associate in the area and had illegally occupied the said land by force,” said the spokesman.

He said that it is pertinent to mention that JeM militant Ashiq Nangroo is involved in many crimes and presently managing his militant activities across the border.

“Although, the said structure was impounded in a case registered against him under the unlawful activities prevention act as proceeds of militancy by Pulwama Police,” he added.

“Meanwhile, District Administration and Police Pulwama demolished the said two-storied structure and retrieved the illegally occupied land from the encroacher,” said police spokesman in a statement.
