SRINAGAR: Police in Srinagar resolved a theft case within 24 hours, arresting the accused and recovering stolen jewellery, officials said.
A police spokesperson in a statement said, “The case was reported at Police Station Shaltang by Mst Aimen Akhzar, a resident of Umerabad Srinagar, who said that thieves had broken into her house on the night of January 15-16 while her parents were away performing Umrah.”
Following the filing of an FIR, the police initiated an investigation. During questioning, suspicion fell on Janatul Begum, a maid employed at the house, who later confessed to the crime. The stolen jewellery was recovered based on her disclosure.
