Authorities on Wednesday said the water level in river Jhelum at Ram Munshi Bagh here has crossed the alert mark amid continuous rainfall in the Valley.
Field teams have been deployed to monitor the situation and contingency measures have been put in place, officials said.

People have been advised to exercise caution and refrain from venturing near water bodies in view of the rising water levels.
