Celebrated every year, the Jhiri Mela is being held in memory of farmer and great saint Baba Jitto, who alongwith his daughter Bua Kauri fought and sacrificed their lives to ensure justice to his people against the feudal system.
Mela will commence on November 27 and Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma convened a meeting of district officers to discuss arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of religious Mela, which thronged by lakhs of devotees
