SRINAGAR: With Covid-19 cases contiuing to be on the rise, the Jammu and Kashmir administration today constituted a committee for formulating an action olan for tackling a possible third wave of Covid-19 in J&K.
As per Government Order No.446-JK(GAD) of 2021, the order read,
“Sanction is hereby accorded to constitution of a Committee, comprising the following, for formulating an Action Plan for tackling a possible third wave of COVID-19 in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir:
Dr. M M.S. Khuroo, Ex-Director, SKIMS Soura, Srinagar as Chairman
Dr. Shakti Gupta, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Jammu as member
Dr. A.G. Ahangar, Director, SKIMS Soura, Srinagar as member
Dr. Samia Rashid, Principal, GMC, Srinagar as member
Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director (Coordination), New Medical Colleges, J&K and Managing Director, JKMSCL as member
Mr. Yasin Choudhary (IAS), Mission Director NHM, J&K as member
Dr. Saleem, Head of the Department PSM, GMC Srinagar as member
Dr. Muzaffer Jan, Head of the Department Paediatrics, GMC, Srinagar as member
Dr. Rahul Gupta, Head of the Department, Chest Diseases, GMC Jammu as member
Dr. Khalid, Sr. Resident Administrator, Department of Hospital Administration, AIIMS, Delhi as member
Terms of Reference:
To prepare an Action Plan for tackling a possible third wave of COVID 19 pandemic in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir with special focus on:
(0) Preparedness in terms of creation of health infrastructure, enhancement in testing capacities, treatment protocols, arrangement of essential drugs/logistics, Machinery and Equipments, oxygen supply, manpower, etc.
(ii) Ramping up COVID hospital beds and Critical Care Units especially for Pediatrics/Neo-natal age group, which is likely to be affected
more. (ii) Strengthening of Healthcare/COVID Care facilities in the rural areas of the Union Territory.
(iv) Devising additional COVID SOPS/guidelines that are required.”
