Moved by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, the resolution expressed strong disapproval of the attack and extended solidarity to the victims and their families. The motion was passed unanimously after Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather’s opening remarks, and the session was adjourned sine die.

The resolution endorsed the Union Government’s diplomatic response following the Cabinet Committee on Security meeting. It condemned the attack as an assault on “Kashmiriyat,” the Constitution, and the values of unity, peace, and harmony in the region.

A two-minute silence was observed to honour the 26 lives lost in the attack. The resolution expressed profound shock at the inhumane act, declaring, “This House unequivocally condemns the heinous, cowardly act that resulted in the loss of innocent lives.”

The resolution also recognised the bravery of Shaheed Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who died while attempting to save tourists. “His courage and selflessness embody the true spirit of Kashmir,” it stated.

Meanwhile, JK Chief Minister Omar Abdullah clarified he would not demand statehood for the region in the wake of the attack. “I won’t use this moment for such politics. It would be shameful to ask for statehood while the country mourns,” he said.
