Under its Platinum Jubilee initiative J&K Bank Saturday announced donation of a school-van to J&K Voluntary Medicare Society – a medico-social non-governmental organisation working for rehabilitation of physically and mentally challenged persons.

The Bank’s Executive President Abdul Hamid Banday made the announcement on behalf of the bank’s Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad during a sports event held by the organization in its campus at Bemina. He was the guest of honour on the occasion.

District Development Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Shah was the Chief Guest.

The Executive President highlighted the contribution of J&K Bank towards the social cause. “Being a socially conscious commercial organisation we understand our obligations towards needy and poor. Be it their education, health, day to day needs or livelihood, J&K Bank is always there to support them through its multiple philanthropic interventions,” said Banday.

He assured the Society of maximum possible assistance for carrying out its mission of rehabilitation programmes aimed at special persons, particularly special children.

Notably, J&K Bank has already adopted 25 special children of the Society who belong to poor sections of the society and has been contributing at regular intervals for development of infrastructure in this modern rehabilitation and neuro-diagnostic centre run by the society.
