SRINAGAR: In a significant milestone in the ongoing digital transformation journey aimed at enhancing the banking experience for customers, J&K Bank has unveiled the first phase of its new mobile banking application, Mpay Delight+.

MD & CEO Baldev Prakash officially introduced Mpay Delight+ on Tuesday, surrounded by General Managers, Deputy General Managers, and senior officers at the bank’s corporate headquarters in Srinagar.

While extending congratulations to those involved in developing the new application, Baldev Prakash, MD & CEO of J&K Bank, expressed his satisfaction with the early launch of Mpay Delight+, stating, “Today, I am pleased to see that the first phase of Mpay Delight+ is already in our hands, well ahead of schedule. With this new app, we have successfully addressed a major pain point in our banking services, achieving an important milestone in our digital journey to ensure a seamless banking experience for our valued customers.”

He went on to elaborate, “The second phase is slated for completion by December this year and will include essential digital banking features such as online processes for loans, deposits, and investment products. Afterward, customers will no longer need to visit a branch, as all core branch functions will be accessible and efficient through Mpay Delight+.”

In his address, the Prakash emphasised, “Delivering top-quality products and timely services are essential components of a successful strategy that allows organisations to thrive in competitive environments, especially in banking. The modern customer demands excellence in both areas.”

He urged the entire staff to vigorously promote the app, enabling the bank’s valued customers to enjoy the convenience and security of managing their accounts anytime, anywhere, without complications.

“With numerous digital initiatives currently in progress at the bank, I assure all our stakeholders that by the end of this fiscal year, J&K Bank will be one of the country’s leading digital banks,” he asserted, commending the entire Mpay Delight+ team for their dedication in developing a highly competitive and feature-rich mobile banking application.

“Teamwork is crucial in the era of modern banking, which requires advanced and integrated modes of operation,” he added.

Earlier in his welcome address, Imtiyaz Ahmad, the Bank’s General Manager (Strategy & IT), provided an overview of the new application and its features. He noted, “Our previous application boasts 2 million users, making it clear that among digital banking channels, J&K Bank’s mPay is the most popular choice among the general public. As of now, Mpay Delight+ has already been downloaded by 110,000 users.”

“With its enhanced features and user-friendly interface, we are confident that we will surpass the 2 million user mark sooner than expected following this formal launch,” he added.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mohammad Muzaffar Wani, DGM (IT & BPR), who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries for their valuable time and thanked the event organisers. “Although it may seem like just another tool or app that every bank offers, for us, Mpay Delight+ is the vehicle through which we will achieve our digital transformation goals, enabling us to script a new growth story for the bank,” he remarked.

Mpay Delight+ is a state-of-the-art mobile banking application with an intuitive and user-friendly interface, designed to make banking functions easily accessible to customers. Notable features include account management, debit card control, utility bill payments, mobile deposits, alerts and notifications, loyalty management, and a chatbot. The app incorporates robust security measures, including encryption, biometric authentication (such as fingerprint or facial recognition), and two-factor authentication (2FA) to safeguard user data and transactions.
