In collaboration with J&K Bank, Medanta-The Medicity, India’s one of the  largest multi super specialty hospital in Gurgaon organized a two-day ‘Free Multi-specialty Check-up Camp’ at the University of Jammu on Monday.

Over 4000 patients were registered on the first day of camp where a team of 15 Super-specialist doctors headed by CMD Medanta, Dr Naresh Trehan gave free consultations to the patients. The camp was inaugurated by chief minister Omar Abdullah .

Speaking on the occasion, chief minister thanked J&K Bank and Medanta for organizing a free super-specialty check-up camp for the people of Jammu, particularly those from rural areas who don’t have access to such quality treatment.
Appreciating the role of J&K bank, Omar said, “It is a matter of great satisfaction for all of us that J&K Bank shares a good portion of its profits on various CSR activities in the state and I am sure people will benefit from this camp.”

The Bank arranged a team of 30 doctors for OPD consultations during the camp. A large number of voluntary para-medical staff also assisted the doctors.

Expressing the desire to have a long-term association with the bank, Dr Trehan said, “Medanta is considering a partnership with J&K Bank to workout possibilities and schemes for providing concessional treatment for patients from economically weaker sections of society in the state.”

“Particularly for the people who don’t have access to super-special treatment and cannot afford to travel to big cities for specialized treatment, “he added.

Welcoming the chief guest, Dr. Trehan and his team of doctors from Medanta and Jammu as well, bank’s director R K Gupta informed the gathering that the bank has always remained at forefront of substantial CSR initiatives for the benefit of people of the state.
