JK Bank LogoAcknowledging the contribution of J&K Bank in the field of preventive health care, World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA) has appreciated the Bank for its initiative to undertake complete treatment of Hepatitis C patients belonging to underprivileged section of society across the state.

WHA has acknowledged the generous effort by J&K Bank to extend support to HCV patients and “organizing events to raise the profile and awareness of hepatitis in their community”.

The communication from WHA further reads, “Their contributions will help to influence real change and improve the health outcomes for people living with chronic viral hepatitis”.

Pertinently, World Hepatitis Alliance is a global non-governmental organization that represents Hepatitis B and C patient groups from around the world. The Alliance provides global leadership and supports action that will halt the viral hepatitis death toll and improve lives.

Notably, J&K Bank has adopted 50 patients suffering from the chronic hepatitis C disease.

Expressing his gratitude to WHA for acknowledging Bank’s sincere effort for larger public cause, Chairman & CEO of J&K Bank Mushtaq Ahmad said, “Beside economic development of the State and country, Bank realizes its social responsibility in contributing significantly towards the preventive health care”.

“Health is a special focus area of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility. Having already outlined our commitment to extend every possible support to the Hepatitis patients, we aim to go beyond monetary assistance by building capacities of these patients, raising awareness to give viral hepatitis the priority it deserves,” he added.
