SRINAGAR: J&K Bank on Saturday stated that its new feature-rich mobile banking application will be rolled out soon to provide the best customer experience. Additionally, the bank issued an apology to its customers after the mobile banking platform “Mpay Delight” experienced outages on the eve of Eid ul Adha.
Despite the outage during the three days leading up to the Eid festival, J&K Bank processed 7.1 million online transactions totaling Rs 41.7 billion through their digital platforms, including Mpay. However, Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, the bank’s General Manager (IT Vertical), expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused to the bank’s customers.
In a statement, he said, “On the eve of Eid ul Adha, the bank encountered a technical glitch that affected our online banking services and customer transactions. We sincerely apologize to our valuable customers and express our deep regret for all the inconvenience caused, particularly with regards to ‘Mpay’ and the outage in our online services.”
He added, “Recognizing our responsibility towards customers, we have intensified our efforts to ensure uninterrupted digital banking services that meet their expectations. Although the services have been restored, we will ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.”
He further stated, “The bank is currently in the process of transforming its IT landscape with a primary focus on digital banking platforms, utilizing the latest technologies available in the market. Upgrading the bank’s mobile banking, internet banking, and kiosk banking applications remains our top priority. We are dynamically aligning ourselves with changing customer requirements and expectations, and our new and feature-rich mobile banking application, powered by the latest technologies, will be launched soon.”
He concluded, “Our aim is to empower customers to seamlessly access banking services through digital devices at their own convenience and timing.” (GNS)
