The Jammu and Kashmir unity of right wing Hindu nationalist, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is holding a meeting with its national Secretary General, Ram Madhav in winter capital Jammu.
Sources said that Madhav, who landed in Jammu Friday forenoon, along with, MoS in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, is meeting BJP MPs, MLAs, and MLCs in a state guest house in winter capital.
The J&K BJP president, Sat Sharma, and other party functionaries are meeting governor N N Vohra this afternoon to discuss government formation. “State unit has its issues which will be discussed with central leadership before final decision is taken for government formation,” BJP sources said.
The sources said, “issues of portfolios and other things will be discussed.”
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti along with MPs Muzaffar Hussain Baig and Tariq Hameed Karra are meeting Vohra this evening.
Mehbooba was elected PDP legislative party leader by her lawmakers Thursday evening.
The PDP and BJP are expected to stake claim over government formation in state which witnesses political stalement ever since former CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed breathed his last in AIIMS on January 07, 2016 in New Delhi.
Mehbooba had refused to take oath of CM and secrecy asking BJP led union government to announce J&K specific CBMs, however, after meeting PM Narendra Modi, the PDP chief called her party meet where she was elected the legislative party leader. Reports said that there was no reference to proposed CBMs in the meeting which lasted for over an hour.
