Unknown gunmen on Thursday late evening shot dead Jammu and Kashmir BJP state secretary and his brother in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said that J&K’s BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother was shot by unidentified gunmen. Parihar died on the spot while his brother Ajeet Parihar sustained serious injuries and later succumbed to injuries.
Meanwhile, forces have cordoned off the area and manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers. Police have also taken the cognizance of the incident and further investigations are going on. Some reports suggest that section 144 has been imposed in the Kishtwar town to avoid any further untoward incident.
Reports said that the deceased BJP leader was killed outside his residence. Both the brothers reportedly were coming back to their residence from a stationary shop Ajeet runs, when they were attacked.
In 2008, Anil had contested the 2008 Assembly Elections from Kishtwar on the ticket of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Part.
