Senior CPI(m) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Hakeem Yasin and Ghulam Hassan Mir are jointly meeting the interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma, political sources said. The meeting is slated at Tarigami’s Gupkar residence on November 8.

“We have got separate invitations but we have decided to meet him jointly,” Community lawmaker Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami, said. “We took the decision after we met and discussed the invitation.”

“It is incorrect to say that we are going to meet him. The fact is that he is coming to meet us,” he said.

He refused any details about what the trio is going to tell the visiting interlocutor who is on his maiden visit to Kashmir after being appointed to the coveted position.

The three politicians have been working together for a very long time. They were once seen as the “new emerging block” but Mir’s defeat in the 2014 assembly elections reduced their effective presence in the state assembly to two only. Tarigami represents Kulgam for the fourth consecutive term. Yasin has been in the assembly since 2002 and earlier as well. Mir, one of the architects of the PDP, fell from the group and created his own party.
