SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday ordered a reshuffle of senior police officers in the Jammu and Kashmir Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C), transferring and posting five officers with immediate effect in what appears to be an effort to strengthen the Union Territory’s cyber crime investigation and enforcement setup.
According to Government Order No. 372-(ISA) Home of 2026 dated July 17, issued by the Home Department, IPS officer Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, who was serving as In-charge Inspector General of Police (IGP), has been transferred and posted as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the JK Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C).
The order further states that Sameer Sharma, IPS, DIG Armed Jammu, has been posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of JK4C, while Mohd Yaseen Kichloo, IPS, Principal of STC Talwara, has been transferred as SSP Administrative Wing, JK4C, with the additional charge of SSP Cyber Operations Wing.
Similarly, Ramnish Gupta, SSP CICE, Jammu, has been posted as SSP Cyber Investigation Wing at JK4C. Shwetambri Sharma, who was awaiting orders of posting, has been appointed as SSP, Online Crime against Women and Children (OCWC) Wing of the JK Cyber Crime Coordination Centre.
The Home Department said the transfers and postings take effect immediately. It also directed that the salaries of the transferred officers shall continue to be drawn against the overall reserve until further orders. The officers have been deemed relieved with immediate effect
