JK Launches Undergraduate, Integrated PG Admissions for 2025-26; Over 50 Majors Offered

SRINAGAR: The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has formally opened admissions for Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) and Integrated Postgraduate Programmes for the academic session 2025–2026. These programmes, which include multiple-exit options, will be available across all Government Degree Colleges in the Union Territory, as well as at the main and off-site campuses of the University of Jammu.

More than 50 major subject choices are being offered under this centralised admission system. The department has clarified that admissions are open to all eligible students, regardless of whether they have appeared in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

All aspirants must register on the centralised admission portal — https://jkadmission.samarth.ac.in — between June 16 and July 7, 2025. Candidates will be able to submit their preferences for colleges and major subjects from July 3 to July 9, 2025.

The allotment of colleges and subjects will be made in phases starting July 11, strictly based on merit. CUET scores will be used for admission into CUET-affiliated colleges, while 10+2 scores will determine admission into non-CUET colleges. Any leftover seats in both categories will also be filled based on 10+2 merit.

To assist applicants, Admission Counselling and Facilitation Centres have been set up in every degree college. Students have been strongly advised to use these facilities while filling out forms and submitting preferences to avoid errors in the admission process.

A comprehensive admission notice — detailing key dates, the list of colleges and major subjects, terms and conditions, and an application manual — is available on both the official admission portal and the Directorate of Colleges website: https://directorcollegesjk.in.

Candidates are also encouraged to join the official “Admissions 2025” WhatsApp channel through the links provided in the detailed notice to stay updated on the latest developments.
