SRINAGAR: The Udhampur constituency has registered a voter turnout of over 65 percent till 5 pm as it went to polls in the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls on Friday.

Reports said that at 5 pm a voter turnout of 65.08 percent was registered in the Udhampur constituency.

While giving constituency wise details, officials said 60.65 percent turnout, Banihal 56.62 percent, Basohli 63.57 percent, Bhaderwah 60.85 percent, Bilawar 64.51 percent, Chenani 66.33 percent, Doda 65.78 percent, Doda West 66.62 percent, Hiranagar 68.06 percent, Inderwal 66.90 percent, Jasrota 68.65 percent, Kathua (SC) 70.80 percent, Kishtwar 62.51 percent, Padder-nagseni 60.81 percent, Ramban 64.76 percent, Ramnagar (SC) 64.79 percent, Udhampur East 69.96 percent, and Udhampur West 67.33 percent.

Voting for this constituency started at 7 am today amid heavy rain in several parts of Udhampur and Kathua districts. There is a direct fight between BJP’s Jatinder Singh and INC’s Lal Singh. Voting is being held in 102 seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls across the country. (KS)
