SRINAGAR: Police in Samba District arrested a major drug supplier from the Tarn-Taran area of Punjab on Sunday.
Police identified him as Kulwinder Singh from Gujjarpur, Tehsil Khandur Sahib, District Tarn Taran, Punjab. They stated that he is a hardcore interstate heroin (chitta) smuggler and supplier, wanted in connection with a case under investigation in Samba.
“His arrest has been executed on the basis of backward link investigation in a case involving the arrest of notorious heroin smuggler Farman Ali of Balole Khad, who was caught for allegedly transferring money amounting to Rs 4.50 lakh to a Punjab based supplier and possessing a cash amounting to Rs 1.29 lakh,” police spokesperson said in the statement.
