SRINAGAR: Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the Kashmir on September 19, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have issued a traffic advisory to prevent congestion and reduce public inconvenience.
The traffic movement from Pantha Chowk towards Ram Munshi Bagh will be restricted from 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Motorists travelling towards Lal Chowk from Pantha Chowk, and vice versa, are advised to use the alternate route via Pantha Chowk-Nowgam-Sanatnagar-Chanapora-Natipora-Ram Bagh.
Additionally, traffic from the Police Golf Course/Hotel Lalit towards Gupkar and Ram Munshi Bagh will also be restricted during the same hours. Motorists travelling from Harwan Nishat towards Lal Chowk should take the Boulevard Road via Nehru Park-Dalgate to reach their destinations. Traffic from Dalgate to Ram Munshi Bagh will be restricted, and motorists are advised to use Badyari-Dalgate-M.A. Road or R.R. Road.
Traffic assistance points will be set up at Pantha Chowk, Shivpora, Sonwar, Rajbagh, Badyari, Dalgate, Radio Kashmir, Abdullah Bridge, Sangermal, and Lalit Grand Palace. Participants are urged to park only at designated parking spots, as roadside parking is prohibited, and wrongly parked vehicles will be towed. Emergency vehicles will be allowed to take the shortest route.
