SRINAGAR: Police in Baramulla have cracked a theft case by arresting two accused persons involved in the crime and recovering stolen property from their possession.
“On 30 April 2025, Police Station Boniyar received a written complaint from one Mohd Ramzan Parray, son of Abdul Rahim Parray, resident of Pehlipora Boniyar, alleging the illegal cutting and theft of his poplar trees by unknown persons. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 30/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered, and investigation was initiated,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
During the course of the investigation, the team identified one suspect, Mohd Maqbool Mir, son of Ghulam Mir, resident of Pehlipora. “He confessed to the crime and revealed that Manzoor Ahmad Parray, son of Mohd Ramzan Parray and also a resident of Pehlipora Boniyar, was his accomplice. Following sustained questioning, both accused confessed their involvement. Subsequently, they were arrested, and on their disclosure, stolen poplar tree logs were recovered,” police said.
