J&K Resident Allegedly Kills Nephew In Saudi Arabia


A family from Poonch on Sunday urged authorities to take measures to bring the body of their kin who was allegedly murdered by his maternal uncle in Saudi Arabia on the night of June 2.

Javid Iqbal, a resident of Banola Mendhar in Poonch told news agency that his younger brother Zaffar Iqbal (23) was killed on the night of Shab-e- Qadr at Taif Haqeeq where he was working as a labourer from last two and half years.

“The Saudi authorities we are told have cracked the murder case and have arrested our maternal uncle Sirajdin (42),” Javid said, adding that another person who assisted in the murder has also been arrested and he is said to be from Pakistan.

Javid said that Sirajdin was arrested by Saudi police at International Airport while he was trying to flee the country.

While the family demanded stern punishment to Siraj and other accused, they urged authorities to bring the body of Zaffar back home.

“We request external affairs minister, S J Shanker, to intervene into the matter and help in bringing the body of the Indian national to his native village in Poonch. (GNS)
