The J&K Services Selection Board conducted its 129th Board meeting under the chairmanship of Simrandeep Singh here today.

During the meeting, thirty two selection lists were declared, the vacancies for which were notified vide advertisements No. 01/02 of 2012; Advertisement No. 01/03 of 2014; Advertisement No. 01 of 2015; Advertisement No. 04 of 2015; Advertisement No. 03 of 2015; Advertisement No. 02 of 2015; Advertisement No. 01 of 2011; Advertisement No. 06 of 2015 and Advertisement No. 01 of 2016, Advertisement No. 02 of 2016, Advertisement No. 01/06 of 2013, advertisement No. 03 of 2012, advertisement No. 05 of 2015. These results included for the posts of Driver in Health and Medical Education Department for Districts Srinagar, Pulwama, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara, Budgam and Kulgam. Besides, the results for the posts of Driver in Industries and Commerce department for Jammu district; Animal and Husbandry Department for Baramulla, Kupwara , Kulgam , Srinagar and Pulwama districts; Agriculture Production department for Kishtwar, Ramban districts; Revenue department for Reasi district; Tourism department (state cadre); Hospitality and Protocol department (State cadre); PDD and Transport departments (State cadre); Information department (Kulgam and Anantnag districts); Relief and Rehabilitation department (Kashmir Division) were also declared.

The results for the posts of Motor Vehicle Inspector in Transport department (Kashmir division); Jr. Scale Stenographer in Labour and Employment /Finance departments (State cadre); Copiest in Information Department (State Cadre); Assistant PTI in Youth Services and Sports deptt (Kashmir division); Crafts Assistant in Social Welfare deptt (Kathua & Kulgam districts) and Library Assistant in Law department were also declared. The Board also released the Selection lists of Physically Handicapped category posts of Teachers of Education department for Rajouri, Kishtwar, Reasi and Udhampur districts.

In a significant decision, the Board also decided to introduce Computer Based written Examination (CBE) system, on the pattern of the Central Staff Selection Commission, in order to fast track and better supervise the examination system in a transparent manner which will be launched for the yet to be conducted written test of the Junior Assistants and Stenographers. Negative marking will also be introduced in the CBE to the check the real knowledge of the candidate, to avoid guessing in exams & to verify if the candidate really knows what he is answering.

The Board shall give details of the new system much before the exam date to enable candidates to adapt to it. Further, the Board also decided to release, in future, the criteria of selection at the time of the original advertisement notification so that there is complete clarity to the candidates about the procedure of selection.
