JK Weather: Dry Spell Till June 20, Rains Likely Thereafter

   

SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating a mix of dry and wet conditions over the coming days.

From June 18 to 20, the weather is expected to remain generally dry with the possibility of brief spells of rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds at isolated places. On June 21 and 22, the forecast suggests generally cloudy skies with intermittent rain or thundershowers at many locations. The weather is likely to turn dry again on June 23 and 24, with chances of light rain or thundershowers at isolated spots. Between June 25 and 27, the region is expected to see generally cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places.

The advisory issued by the MET Centre urges farmers to continue their agricultural activities till June 20. It also warns of moderate to heavy rainfall with intense showers at some locations in the Jammu Division on June 21 and 22, which may lead to flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas.
