SRINAGAR: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, on Friday, emphasised the increasing peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir, attributing it to the sacrifices made by the police officers who fell in the line of duty. During the closing ceremony of the Shaheed Aman Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament in Kishtwar, he expressed the pride of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in its martyrs, who gave their lives while safeguarding the people and the nation.

“Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing growing peace and stability because of the sacrifices of our fallen heroes,” Singh remarked.

Singh further highlighted that the police has been organising the tournament for the past four years as a tribute to their “fallen heroes.” He specifically mentioned Deputy Superintendent of Police Aman Thakur, who lost his life in 2019 during an encounter in Kulgam.

Singh commended the youth as representatives of the evolving Jammu and Kashmir, noting their substantial participation in sports activities.

“The youth are representing the changing Jammu and Kashmir with their significant involvement in sports,” he acknowledged.

While addressing the ongoing battle against drugs, Singh sought the continuous cooperation of the people, emphasising that collective efforts are crucial in eradicating this menace.

Singh also lauded the victorious team and stressed the importance of participation, stating that it enhances the players’ confidence, emphasizing that it’s not just about winning but also about being part of the game.
