Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Foundation on Wednesday held a day-long seminar on Istaqbal-e-Ramadhan at Baitul Hilal Jawahar Nagar in Srinagar.

The seminar was attended by justice retired Bashir Ahmad Kirmani among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Kirmani said: “In J&K, due to turmoil the number of orphans, widows and other destitute is increasing day by day which is an alarming point and needs to be taken seriously by the society. If the society will not concentrate immediately for the rehabilitation of destitute the consciousness of this will be serious”.

He stressed upon the need of cooperation and coordination between prestigious welfare organizations of the state.

While highlighting the importance of “ Holy Ramdhan, the guest of honour Dr Nazir Ahmad Zargar, Assistant Professor Central University of Kashmir, said that it is the month of fulfillment of rights of people. He expressed the hope that all sections of the society will come forward for help and assistance of needy in the light of principles of the Quran and Sunnah.
