Te order comes amid concerns raised on social media over the conduct of the Class 10 Mathematics examination and the preparedness of students.

According to an order issued by JKBOSE on October 19, 2026, the committee has been directed to verify the incident and submit a factual report within three days.

The committee comprises the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Mahore, the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Mahore, and the Incharge Branch Office, Mahore, JKBOSE.

As per the order, the committee will examine the matter from all factual perspectives and fix responsibility on the erring official, if the reported incident is found to be true, for further necessary action.

In an immediate administrative measure, the Incharge Branch Officer, Mahore, JKBOSE, has been directed to replace the centre superintendent along with the entire supervisory staff to ensure the smooth continuation and orderly conduct of examinations at the centre.

The Board has directed that the matter be treated as most urgent.

The order was issued by the Joint Secretary, Examination, Jammu Division, JKBOSE, following the reported incident at the Mahore examination centre.

Concerns Raised Over Examination Conduct

Earlier, A social media user, Ayaan, in a post on Facebook, said he interacted with students after the Mathematics examination and found that many appeared to lack confidence in their preparation.

Raising concerns over educational standards and accountability, he questioned who would take responsibility for students’ futures if the quality of education was compromised.

“Teachers are paid to educate students, not to compromise their future,” he wrote, while reiterating his opposition to cheating in examinations.

He also called upon the Education Department to ensure accountability, transparency and a fair investigation into the concerns raised, stressing that students deserved a fair opportunity to secure their future.

The social media post separately raised broader concerns about the quality of education. However, the specific allegations and observations in the post have not been independently verified.

The JKBOSE committee’s findings are expected to establish the facts surrounding the reported question paper outage at the Mahore centre and determine whether any official lapses occurred. (JKNS)
