In a statement issued in Srinagar, the Association thanked Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister in charge of the Public Works Department, and Anil Kumar Singh, Financial Commissioner/Additional Chief Secretary, for the government order placing 13 in-charge Executive Engineers as in-charge Superintending Engineers and 25 in-charge Assistant Executive Engineers as in-charge Executive Engineers.

The Association said the move would enhance administrative continuity and strengthen technical leadership at a time when infrastructure development requires coordinated oversight and experienced management.

It stated that the placements formally recognise the officers’ existing responsibilities and are expected to improve operational efficiency across departments.

While welcoming the decision, JKCEGA expressed hope that pending service matters, including regularisation cases, in-charge AEE and AE placements, and implementation of Assured Career Progression for engineers, would be addressed in due course.

The Association said the engineering community remains committed to supporting infrastructure development across Jammu and Kashmir.
