Expressing serious concern over the unabated killings in Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has said that killing of unarmed Mohammad Yousuf Rather at Khiram, Srigufwara and injuring his wife Rafeeqa Bano has put a question mark on the state authorities.

The spokesman in a statement said that killings in the Kashmir valley on day to day basis is a matter of grave worry, the JKDFP spokesperson added that these killings are the direct result of the heavy militarization of the region. He said that government forces did not allow Sayar Ahmad, to attend the funeral of his slain father which speaks volumes about the rights violations taking place in the disputed region.

Paying rich and glowing tributes to Dawood Ahmad Sofi of Srinagar, Majid Manzoor Dar of Pulwama, Aadil Rehman Bhat of Islamabad and Mohammad Ashraf Itoo of Islamabad, the JKDFP spokesperson said that human blood is very precious and needs to be saved. The JKDFP spokesperson pledged that sacrifices of the “martyrs” of Kashmir will be protected at all costs and nobody will be allowed to derail the struggle for the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu Kashmir.
