Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Monday remembered Asiya and Neelofar, two young women of Shopian who were raped and murdered by the men in uniform in 2009.

Paying tributes to the slain duo, a JKDFP spokesperson said in a statement that government has been using rape as a war weapon against the Kashmiris who have been struggling for their right to self-determination since decades together.

Strongly condemning the probe agencies for not delivering justice to the people of Kashmir, the JKDFP spokesperson demanded an international probe into all the killings in Kashmir including the dual rape and murder of Asiya and Neelofar.

He said it is very important to punish the culprits behind rapes and killings and only this can prove a powerful confidence-building measure.

It is also the responsibility of the justice loving people in and outside Kashmir to remain fighting for the victims like Asiya and Neelofar.

People should also raise their voice in favour of an international probe into the heinous crimes like that of the murdering of Asiya and Neelofar because Indian agencies have miserably failed and proved mere puppets.

Exhibiting solidarity and sympathy with the family of Asiya and Neelofar, the JKDFP spokesperson said that whole nation stands united against the killers of two young ladies whose souls are still searching for justice.

Meanwhile, the JKDFP spokesperson strongly condemned the “hooliganism” of Indian forces exhibited in Sugan village of Shopian district. He said that the way government forces ransacked and vandalized residential houses and Apple orchards at Sugan it proves that these forces think Kashmiri people as their conquered slaves.
