Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP on Monday paid rich and glowing tributes to Islamic Scholar and Ummat-E-Islami Chief, Dr Qazi Nissar Ahmad on his 24th death anniversary.

Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmad, one of the founders of Muslim United Front (MUF) was killed by unidentified gunmen in Dialgam village of Islamabad on June 19, 1994.

Paying glowing tributes to the slain leader, a JKDF said that Dr Qazi Nisar was a great religious scholar and a patriot who always laid emphasis on the unity of Ummah. He said that the contribution of Qazi Nisar in the freedom movement is unparallel. He was among few who brought different political and religious parties, though sharing different ideologies but fighting for the cause of Muslims in the state on a single platform and the result was the creation of MUF. The JKDFP spokesperson vowed to take the mission of all “martyrs” to its logical conclusion.

While paying rich tributes to late Qazi Nisar, JKDFP described him as a great leader who strived for safeguarding the Muslim identity of Kashmir. Qazi Nisar’s struggle and sacrifices cannot be ignored by anyone and today we express our gratitude and love for the noble soul.

Meanwhile, JKDFP expressed deep grief and sorrow over the killing of Brakpora Islamabad youth “Shiraz Ahmad” by the government forces on Eid. The party said that government forces are on a mission to implement the agenda of New Delhi and its local agents which is to terrorize the people of Kashmir so that they will not raise their voice.

Meanwhile, Ummat-e- Islami has called for a shutdown in south Kashmir on the death anniversary of Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmed on Tuesday.
