Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has paid rich and glowing tributes to  Hamid on his death anniversary. S Hamid, an associate of the JKDFP incarcerated chief, Shabir Ahmad Shah, was arrested by government forces on April 18, 1998.

Remembering the great politician and intellectual, JKDFP said in a statement that S Hamid was an icon of the freedom struggle and among the founders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

Time has proved that by the sacrifices of our great like S Hamid, the freedom movement has become so strong. Despite the dirty designs of the forces the ideological heirs of are still on the path of resistance and freedom.

Terming S Hamid as a leader with vision, Freedom Party spokesperson said that he will always be remembered for his dedication, sincerity and love for freedom.

He praised the student community for their velour and resolve. He said that freedom is not so far when young generation is so determined. Recent student protests against the atrocities is a clear message to India that freedom struggle has transferred successfully to the younger generation that will not accept any kind of atrocities.

JKDFP spokesperson said that goverment should read the writing on the wall and desist from its illogical stance about Kashmir dispute. He added that heckling of youth, tear gassing peaceful protesters and baton charging them is not acceptable to Kashmiris.
