SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee (JKECC) has urged the government to extend the benefits of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to employees appointed before 2010 but regularised after the New Pension Scheme came into effect.
JKECC president Shah Fayaz, while speaking to the media, said several employees, including contractual teachers, Rehbar-e-Taleem (RET) teachers and employees of other departments, remained outside the ambit of the OPS despite existing government orders.
Fayaz also raised issues concerning pay anomalies, promotions, recruitment rules and pending salaries, and called for their resolution.
He warned that the employees’ body would be compelled to take further action if the issues remained unresolved.
The JKECC said the concerns required timely intervention by the government to address the grievances of affected employees.
